I keep getting e-mails from people who think I died in that car accident, so let me repeat myself - I'm alive and doing fine. I'll talk in detail about the accident on this weekend's upcoming show. I'm still in a state of shock about what happened, but you can bet that Sean and Bad Influence will want to make fun of my near-death experience. Plus, I'll explain how I ended up in a cardboard house with a homeless guy, and I'll let you know why I shot off a fire extinguisher in the hospital. In the meantime, here are my thoughts on some random subjects:
• If you haven't already read the news, Jesse Jackson has admitted to cheating on his wife and fathering a bastard child with another woman. I told you! I told you he was a hypocritical son of a bitch! I've been saying the same things about Jesse Jackson for the past year, and nobody had the balls to agree with me, but now there is no doubt that I was right about him! This guy has made a career out of racism and hate, yet for almost fifty years, he somehow managed to fool the general public into thinking he was a saint. I never bought his crap, and now the whole world sees what a manipulative, lying asshole he really is!
I bet all the people who kissed his ass feel pretty stupid right now. Personally, I never could understand why anybody ever trusted him in the first place. Watch a Jesse Jackson speech - the guy practically oozes insincerity. He called himself a civil-rights fighter, but he never seemed to fight for the rights of gays or Jews, did he? He tried to fool the black community into thinking he was the second coming of Dr. King, but if you check his history, Jesse Jackson has been all talk with very little action. Now that he is taking some time off from public life, I hope the civil-rights community can find a more honorable role model to replace him. Let's hope it's someone worthy of their support... because Jesse Jackson sure as hell wasn't.
• I've been talking with a production company about the possibility of bringing The Bob Freeman Show to television, but my local cable company is causing some problems. You see, I thought the show should start out on public access, but AT&T Broadband controls the public access channel in this area, and they have insanely strict regulations. According to their policy, community programming must "not contain material that is obscene" (which obviously would pose a problem for us) and all shows must "promote community awareness." I'm not sure what that last part means, but considering the fact we don't give a damn about the community, AT&T probably wouldn't consider us "a positive influence" on the Bay Area. Since our chances of getting on public access are looking pretty slim, I'm now planning to tape a pilot episode of the show that I can pitch to TV companies. I'll keep you posted.
• That's all the time I have for this week's edition of Freeman's Fire, but be sure to keep checking back to BobFreemanShow.com throughout the weekend, because this week's show is going to be interesting. Plus, I hope to have more information about the Flasher The Clown scandal.
See you then!
