Freeman's Fire

Hey everybody.

If you tried to access BobFreemanShow.com in the last week, you weren't able to view the website. This was not an accident, and we were very aware of the problem, but there was nothing that we could do about it. On Tuesday, we received an e-mail from Virtual Avenue, the server which hosted the Bob Freeman Show.

Here's the transcript of their letter:

"We regret to inform you that your account will be deleted from our servers within the next 48 hours because it violates our Terms of Service. Reason: The site contains foul language and contains offensive material."

Needless to say, we were caught offguard by the letter. Nobody had given us any warning whatsoever, and now, all of a sudden, the Bob Freeman Show had been taken off the web. They were using their Terms of Service as an excuse to ban us, but at that time, the F-word didn't appear on this webpage once without an asterix (*) placed where the letter 'u' should have been. Were they really that offended by the words "shit" and "asshole?" That seems highly unlikely. Basically, here's what it comes down to - the folks at Virtual Avenue didn't like our show, so they were looking for any possible excuse to get rid of us. This is a case of censorship at its nastiest.

Unfortunately, I don't think it has anything to do with the content of our website. You see, I had been complaining to Virtual Avenue for several weeks about some problems that I was experiencing with their server. Those worthless pieces of shit probably just decided that it was easier to get rid of me than to actually deal with my complaints. What a bunch of lazy bastards. I hope their stock crashes on NASDAQ, their company goes out of business, and all the employees of Virtual Avenue are forced to get jobs at the DMV.

If you feel like raising a little hell, please don't hesitate to send Virtual Avenue an e-mail, letting them know how you feel about their incompetence. I'll be back next week with another column, and be sure to check out this week's show, where we discuss what we really think about Virtual Avenue.
